Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: After ending 2020 with the best On-Time Performance (simple average basis DGCA 2020 reports) in Indian skies, AirAsia India kicked off the year by launching new flights connecting Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Pune. The airline added another feather to its cap by becoming the only airline to offer direct / non-stop flights between Bhubaneswar and Pune. Bookings for these sectors are open for sale and flights will be operational from January 24. {"align":"center","id":92424,"width":765,"height":207,"sizeSlug":"large","linkDestination":"none"} Speaking about the launch, Ankur Garg, Chief Commercial Officer, AirAsia India, said “We are delighted to announce the launch of new flights connecting Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Pune. The flights are scheduled to ease the convenience of flying, with our fly-thru service enabling a connection between Kolkata and Pune. AirAsia India started operations from Bhubaneswar on 1-Aug-2017 and now connects Bhubaneswar to all our four hubs, i.e. Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata. We have been strengthening our relationship even more recently, working with the State Government and others during the lockdown to ferry migrants home to Odisha from across the country including Kochi, Mumbai, Imphal, Guwahati, Bagdogra, Jammu and Port Blair as part of our Umeed Ki Udaan (Flights of Hope) initiative.” The airline has been charting a steady growth path and inducted three 186 seater Airbus A320 Neos in 2020. Adding to its diverse set of services to amplify the convenience of safe travel, AirAsia India recently launched its new service ‘Extra Seat’, allowing guests to reserve an additional seat to enjoy a hassle-free and comfortable flying experience. This service is applied to all the flights operated by AirAsia India and is best suited to complement guests’ special seating needs, or to carry fragile and personal equipment while getting some extra ‘ME’ time. Guests travelling with an infant can also book an ‘Extra Seat’ to accommodate a carry cot for a pleasant experience. The airline has also collaborated with Avis car rental services to help guests hire airport transfers, chauffeur-driven vehicles, long term car rentals or self-drive cars from Avis’s fleet of mid, premium, luxury and SUV cars.
