Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Not only Odisha Television Limited (OTV) has been accused of land grabbing in Sarua mouza under Begunia tehsil of Khurda district, the company has also allegedly encroached land measuring around 12,980 square ft around its office on the city. The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corpration (IDCO) had served a show-cause notice on the OTV management on October 20 after receipt of allegation to this effect. OTV authorities denied the allegation in their reply filed on October 22. However, not being satisfied with the reply to the show cause notice, the IDCO authorities today conducted joint verification of the land around the OTV office. Land Officer of IDCO, officials of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) and Kalarahang tehsil were present at the time of the joint verification. It was revealed from the joint verification that IDCO had allotted land measuring 0.835 acre (N/28/29/30 and Plot No 31) in Chandka Industrial Estate in the city to the OTV in 2007. However, OTV has allegedly grabbed an additional 12,850 sq. ft land in addition to the allotted land and has made constructions over the encroached land. The teleport and DG of the OTV is located on this encroached land, Besides, a portion of the main building has come up on the grabbed land, as revealed from the joint verification today. Now, the public glare is on the IDCO authorities as to what action is being taken against the OTV for the land grabbing on the heart of the city.
