After Leopard Attack, Odisha CM Majhi Urges Caution Near Similipal Forests

Bhubaneswar, June 8: Following the death of a man in a leopard attack in Similipal National Park, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has urged residents living near the forest to avoid entering it alone.

Addressing a gathering in Bhubaneswar, the Chief Minister highlighted Similipal's global significance as the only habitat of pseudo-melanistic Bengal tigers, popularly known as black tigers.

Referring to the recent incident in which a man was killed and his body parts were recovered from the Similipal area, Majhi appealed to people to remain vigilant while entering forested regions around the park. He advised residents not to venture into the forests alone unless absolutely necessary.
