Affordable Udaan Yatri Café launched at Bhubaneswar Airport; Terminal 3 to highlight Odisha’s cultural heritage

Bhubaneswar, August 25: In a significant move to make air travel more affordable and culturally enriching, the Udaan Yatri Café was inaugurated today at Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar. The café offers hygienic and budget-friendly food and beverages to passengers within the airport terminal.

As part of the initiative, tea, coffee, bottled water, and coconut ladoos are available at just ₹10, while samosas are priced at ₹20. The facility is open to all passengers and aims to make quality refreshments accessible at nominal prices.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who inaugurated the café, stated that this is a new initiative by the Central Government to improve passenger experience by providing low-cost yet quality food options at airports.

The Udaan Yatri Café was first introduced at Kolkata Airport in December last year, and has since expanded to Chennai, Ahmedabad, and Pune. Bhubaneswar is the latest addition, with plans underway to open similar cafés at 10 to 15 major airports across India in the next year, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision for accessible and inclusive air travel.

In addition, Minister Naidu announced that Terminal 3 at Bhubaneswar Airport will be expanded, with a unique focus on showcasing Odia art, culture, and traditions. The new terminal will avoid modern design elements, instead immersing travelers in Odisha’s rich heritage and history upon arrival.

“This terminal will reflect the pride and legacy of Odisha,” the minister said, adding that passengers will get a glimpse into the state’s cultural richness as soon as they land.
