Adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit busted in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: Mancheswar police on Tuesday busted an adulterated engine oil manufacturing unit in Samei Gadia area and detained three persons in this connection. Police have also seized around 20000 litres of kerosene and used engine oil from the unit. Acting on a tip-off police raided the unit and seized logo, labels of several reputed engine oil brands. “The trio used to mix used lubricants with other materials to prepare lubricants and were packaging those as the genuine ones. While around Rs 70 was being spent on each bottle of the lubricant, it was sold thrice the price of manufacturing cost. We are further interrogating them to ascertain involvement of others in the racket,” said an official.
