Accountant of DEO Nabarangpur under vigilance scanner

Nabarangpur, July 23: Accountant-cum-Programmer of the District Education Office(DEO), Nabarangpur, Bikash Sana has been apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance on Thursday while demanding and accepting bribe Rs.1,00,000 from a contractor. The Vigilance sleuths trapped Sana red handed while he was receiving the graft money in order to process transport bills of MDM Rice to be distributed at the school points and to facilitate release of security deposit in his favour. Following the trap, rented house of Sana at Nabarangpur and his own house at Umerkote are being searched from DA angle. In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case 17/2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act.2018 has been registered. Investigation in progress against Sana, said a vigilance official.
