Accident in Dhamra port: Contractual worker dies falling from take-off machine

Bhadrak, Dec 7: A contractual worker has died after falling from a take-off machine engaged at Dhamra Port in Bhadrak on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Kanheilal Maiti, a native of Kalinali village who was working with Priyanka Engineering Company. Sources said Kanheilal along with four associates were working on a Take-off machine. Meanwhile, the workers fell down from over 30 feet height as its metallic string broke all of sudden. As a result, Kanheilal died on the spot whereas Nayaanamani Dinda sustained critical injuries. Being informed, the port authorities sent Dinda to Bhadrak district hospital. However, he was referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital later.
