Panaji, Jan 19: AAP’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced lawyer Amit Palekar as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the Goa Assembly polls.
“Amit Palekar will be AAP’s chief ministerial candidate for the Goa Assembly polls. Amit Palekar is an advocate by profession and comes from the Bhandari community,” said the Delhi Chief Minister.
Earlier on Sunday, Kejriwal with other party members was seen campaigning in Cortalim village of Goa. The AAP party leaders were seen interacting with voters in Cortalim while distributing pamplets among them during the campaign.
Kejriwal has also promised a cash assistance of Rs 1000 to every women of Goa, aged above 18 if his party wins the 2022 Assembly elections in the state.
AAP has announced to contest all 40 seats in Goa where elections are to be held next month. Apart of the ruling party, BJP and opposition Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Shiv Sena will be among the prominent parties that will be seen contesting in the Goa polls 2022.
Goa will go to the assembly polls on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
