
Bhadrak, Sept 24: Revenue Inspector of Radhaballavpur, under Dhamnagar Tahasil in the Bhadrak district, Nagendra Kumar Das was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday while taking Rs 4,000 as bribe from a beneficiary.
The Vigilance authorities caught the RI red-handed and recovered the entire bribe money from his possession.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches were carried on at two locations linked to Das to probe DA angle.
According to a press communiqué issued by the vigilance, the RI was taking the bribe to redress a mutation case, despite the frequent requests of the applicant for ROR.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance has filed a case U/s-7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 and remanded the RI to judicial remand.
Investigation is in progress against the accused RI. Detailed report follows, the communiqué added.
