90 primary and 115 elementary schools in Odisha functioning without classrooms

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: As many as 90 primary and 115 elementary schools in the state have no classrooms, informed School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Das in the State Assembly today. Replying to a question by Keonjhar MLA, Mohan Charan Majhi, the minister also replied that as many as 470 schools in Odisha are being run by a single teacher. As per the information furnished by the minister, 50 schools in Ganjm don’t have classrooms followed by Jajpur and Nayagarh with 36 and 24 schools. Similarly 22 primary and elementary schools in Jagatsinghpur are also functioning without classrooms. The minister further replied that 2610 schools are functioning in the state without library facility.
