India One Air aircraft makes force landing near Rourkela; six injured

Rourkela, Jan 10: An India One Air aircraft, a Caravan 208 bearing registration number VT-KSS, made a precautionary force landing near Jalda on its way from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela today. The aircraft had departed Bhubaneswar at 12:27 hours carrying two pilots and four passengers.

According to official information, the aircraft was approximately eight nautical miles short of reaching Rourkela when it was compelled to make a force landing. The pilots acted promptly and skillfully, ensuring a safe landing that helped save all lives on board.

Upon receiving the information, the district administration immediately responded and reached the site. All injured pilots and passengers were shifted to medical facilities in Rourkela for treatment. Currently, three passengers are being treated at J.P. Hospital, while the two pilots and one passenger are under medical care at Rourkela Government Hospital (RGH). Authorities have confirmed that all individuals are under medical observation and treatment, and there have been no fatalities.

The incident has been formally reported to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and other concerned authorities. As per regulatory requirements, the airline will submit detailed reports to the DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for further investigation and necessary action.

The Directorate of Civil Aviation under the Commerce and Transport Department has taken cognizance of the matter and is extending full support to the passengers through the district administration, as well as to the airline as required. The situation is being closely monitored, and authorities have assured that any further developments will be promptly shared with the media.

The Chief Minister has reviewed the situation and directed all concerned officials to extend comprehensive support from the state to the passengers, pilots, and relevant authorities. The Minister for Commerce and Transport is also personally monitoring the situation on a continuous basis.
