80 acres of cultivated hemp plants destroyed in Kandhamal

Phulbani, Jan 21: Over 80 acres of cultivated hemp plants were destroyed in Kandhamal district during Operation Green that is targeting illegal cannabis plantation in Odisha. Baliguda police and excise personnel conducted a joint raid near Surubali village under Mahasinghi gram panchayat and destroyed the plants. The team cut and set ablaze the plantation. A case was also registered at Baliguda police station in this regard. The estimated value of the destroyed cannabis plantation would be worth around Rs 16 crore.
