Bhubaneswar, Ap 7: Odisha has witnessed a series of tragic road accidents, resulting in the deaths of eight people and leaving seven others seriously injured.

In Nabarangpur district, near Badakumari in Umerkote, a head-on collision between two cars claimed three lives, including a child, while five others were seriously injured. The accident has cast a shadow of grief over the local community.

Similarly, in Kalahandi’s Baddarla Chhaka, a tractor collided with a bike, killing two individuals-identified as Khageshwar Majhi and Rudra Nayak -and critically injuring another, who was rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

Earlier, in Balasore’s Sora area, a collision between two trucks resulted in three fatalities. Another severe accident occurred near Yamunanakhi in Biramitrapur, Sundargarh, when a car lost balance and overturned onto a roadside eatery, killing two people and seriously injuring one. The injured was immediately admitted to a nearby medical facility.

Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, particularly on accident-prone stretches, as investigations continue into the causes of these tragedies.
