8.596 kg gold, Rs 75 lakh recovered from Ganja smuggler’s house in Ganjam

Ganjam, Oct 22:Ganjam police has recovered 8.596 kilograms of gold ornaments and more than Rs 75 lakh from a ganja smuggler’s house in Ganjam on Friday. Besides, Khallikote police have seized 10 grams of opium and 34 kilograms of ganja from the possession of one Rajanikant Pattnaik, a resident of Khojapali village under the Khallikote police limit. Sources said Ganjam police had got intelligence outputs on illegal ganja trafficking from Kandhamal to Ganjam. Rajanikant Pattnaik was the mastermind of the illegal trade. {"id":143678,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} Acting on it, Bhejiput outpost police conducted a surprise raid at Pattnaik’s house located at Badadanda Sahi of Khojapali village in the morning. During the search operation, Rs 75,9000, 8.596 kilograms of gold ornaments, 10 grams of opium and 34 kilograms of ganja were recovered from Patnaik’s house, informed Ganja SP in a press conference.
