Bhubaneswar, May 21: In view of cyclone Yaas, Railways has decided to cancel various trains originating and terminating from and at Bhubaneswar and Puri and trains passing through ECoR in Howrah-Chennai main line. Altogether 74 trains have been decided to be cancelled during cyclone period. Some important trains which would be cancelled include Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Special, Bhubaneswar-Howrah Jan Shatabdi Special, Puri-New Delhi Purusottam Special, Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Special, Howrah-Puri-Howrah Special, Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad Visakha Special, Puri-Rishikesh Kalinga Utkal Special and Ahmedabad, Surat, Ajmer bound trains from Puri. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that a fresh cyclone might hit the Indian coast between Odisha and West Bengal on May 26. “A low pressure system will develop around the Andaman Sea and its neighbourhood on May 22 and it will intensify during the 72 hours. Later, it will turn into a cyclonic storm by May 25,” said Director General of India Meteorological Department Mryutyunjay Mohapatra.
