7 players of Women Hockey team including Captain Rani Rampal test positive for Covid-19

New Delhi, Apr 27: As many as seven members of Indian women’s hockey team including Captain Rani Rampal along with two support staffs have tested positive for Covid-19, informed the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Monday. The players were tested on April 24 after there quarantine period when they returned to their training base at SAI Bangalore from their respective hometowns as per protocols. Among them, seven players including the captain along with two other support staffs have tested positive for the coronavirus. “The seven players include Rani Rampal, Savita Punia, Sharmila Devi, Rajani, Navjot Kaur, Navneet Kaur and Sushila," said a SAI statement. Apart from them, video analyst Amrutaprakash and scientific advisor Wayne Lombard have also tested positive. All of them are asymptomatic, and have been kept in isolation and special observation at the SAI NCOE Bangalore.
