Kolkata, March 14: In a tragic accident, at least seven people, including three women and a child, were killed as a speeding SUV car hit series of EVs in West Bengal’s Nadia district on Friday.
The incident took place at Lakshmigachha in Chapra area.
According to police the speeding SUV hit three e-rickshaws one after another, leading to the death of seven occupants of the electric vehicles on the spot.
Apart from it, at least 8 others reportedly sustained serious injuries in the mishap, said police.
The injured ones were admitted to hospital for treatment.
Following this, the vehicles were seized whereas a manhunt was launched by the police, to nab the SUV driver who fled the spot.
