Berhampur, Oct 10: Four days after the shooting murder of BJP leader and lawyer Pitabas Panda, police investigations continue with limited progress. Seven people, including two jawans, have been detained, but the main accused remains at large.

Police have collected CCTV footage from before and after the incident, which occurred around 10 PM on the night of the full moon. Teams from multiple police stations, led by SDPO Priyas Ranjan Chhotaray, are working around the clock to apprehend the suspects.

A team has also been dispatched to Andhra Pradesh following leads. The shooting was reportedly carried out with a country-made pistol. Authorities are questioning several individuals closely connected to Panda, who was known to be involved in resolving various legal and local disputes.

Police remain hopeful of making an arrest soon.
