Paradip: Paradip police on Monday arrested at least seven fake candidates during a recruitment drive conducted by the Indian Army in Paradip.
According to sources, the accused had come to participate in the recruitment drive at Gopabandhu Stadium.
However, their original identity was revealed during the verification of certificates.
The Army officials detained them and during interrogation they were found to be residents of Uttar Pradesh. However, they produced certificates mentioning their residence in Nayagarh district.
Later, Paradip police rushed to the spot and arrested them. An investigation has been launched by the police into the matter.
