Mumbai, Jan 8: Tension erupted in the CBI’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) office after 68 CBI officials from the office tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday. As per media reports, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted COVID test of 235 CBI officials from the BKC office out of which 68 tested positive for the deadly virus. "From the blood sample of 235 personnel, which includes officials, 68 have tested positive. The infected ones have been asked to stay in home quarantine," a BMC official said. The case came to the fore amid the steep rise of COVID cases in the country’s financial capital. Mumbai recorded 20, 971 new COVID-19 infections on Friday. Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday informed that India registered 1,41,986 new COVID cases and 285 deaths in the last 24 hours.
