Bhubaneswar: Around 5,000 people, including women Self Help Group (SHG) members will attend Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held at Exhibition Ground on Wednesday.
Patnaik will take oath as the CM of Odisha for the fifth consecutive term.
Ahead of swearing-in, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr RP Sharma today reviewed security arrangements at Exhibition Ground here.
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of Police Satyajit Mohanty, Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahu, BDA Commissioner Dr Krishan Kumar, and other officials was also present.
For the first time, swearing-in event would be organised outside the Raj Bhavan.
The BJD emerged a clear winner, bagging 112 in the 147-member Assembly. In the outgoing Assembly, the BJD had 117 seats. The regional party too was victorious in 12 parliamentary constituencies. BJP won eight seats while Congress was confined to one seat.
