5 Members team of JPC on Waqf amendment bill reaches Bhubaneswar, Hearing on Monday

Bhubaneswar, November 10: A five-member delegation from the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill arrived in Bhubaneswar y as part of a nationwide consultation effort.

Headed by JPC Chairperson Jagadambika Pal, the team includes notable members such as MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Ghulam Nabi.

 The committee will hold hearings on Monday, engaging with local stakeholders, community leaders, Bar Council Members and experts to gather insights on the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act.

This visit aims to ensure that the amendments are informed by the perspectives and concerns of communities directly impacted by Waqf regulations.

The discussions in Bhubaneswar will focus on addressing local issues and providing clarity on the implications of the bill.

The committee's consultations across various regions underscore its commitment to creating well-rounded legislation reflective of India’s diverse socio-cultural landscape.
