40 tons of stolen coal seized in Odisha, two arrested

Bhubaneswar, Feb 19: The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch today seized 40 tons of stolen coal in Kamakhyanagar under Dhenkanal district and arrested two persons in this connection. On the basis of reliable information, a raid was conducted at different places of Kamakhyanagar about illegal transportation of stolen coal by coal mafias on Friday morning. During the raid the team seized the coal being loaded in two trucks owned by one Arun Nayak against whom number of cases was registered earlier. “We have also arrested two persons after they could not produce any valid authority in support of transportation of coal. A case has been registered at Kamakhyanagar police station for necessary legal action,” said an official.
