Chandikhol, June 21: Bari police late on Sunday night seized as many as 40 nips of liquor from the Barunia panchayats office in Jajpur district and arrested two persons in this connection. The accused have been identified as the residents of Daulatpur and Baula village under Mahanga block. Police said that, amid lockdown and shutdown, the mafias were transporting the liquor in a bike when police intercepted the vehicle. Acting on a tip-off, SI Biswajit Biswal and ASI Anil Sahoo intercepted the vehicle near Barunia panchayats office in Jajpur district. A huge quantity of liquor was loaded in the vehicle," said a police official. Police said that they are further investigating the source of procurement of liquor.
