Rairangpur, Nov 30: At least four persons were killed and three others injured in two separate road accidents in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, police said on Saturday.
In a first incident, three pedestrians were hit by a speeding truck, resulting in the death of one person on the spot while two others suffered severe injuries near Badadalima Chhak under Tiring Police Station limits in Rairangpur.
The injured person is undergoing treatment at a local hospital in a critical condition. Meanwhile, the local police have launched an investigation into the matter by seizing the bodies for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the same truck hit an auto-rickshaw five kilometres away at Bagbendra under Bahalda Police limits here killing a couple travelling in the vehicle on spot, while their relative suffered critical injuries.
On being informed, police rushed the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment, seized the bodies and started an investigation into the matter.
