Bhubaneswar,15 Jan: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the Upper Indravati Mega Irrigation Project for the drought-prone Kalahandi district yesterday, which will turn the region green. Behind this dream project, there are three P's- principal secretary to the chief minister V.K Pandian, Development Commissioner Pradip Jena and Ex-minister & Dharamgarh MLA Puspendra Singhdeo ( now Kalahandi MP), as the people of this region talk about. Pradip Jena had discored the prospects of Indravati while he was the Sub-collector at Dharmagada. The energetic bureaucrat elaborately planned about the mega irrigation project for this dry belt when he became the Secretary of state water resources department. Being a local leader Puspendra Singhdeo put forth the proposal before the government. When he became the urban development minister he followed it up properly to get it executed soon. The proposal caught sight of the principal secretary to the chief minister V.K.Pandian, who later was empowered to supervise Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's 5T mantra of governance. He expedited the execution of the project. Finally, the drought-prone hunger belt of Kalahandi witnessed the dedication of the mega irrigation project by the chief minister on Thursday. wp:table /wp:table
