Nayagarh, Feb 8: Police have arrested three women including a nurse, an ASHA, and an attendant, in connection with lifting a newborn boy from Nayagarh hospital. Sources said a newborn boy had gone missing from the Nayagarh hospital on January 28. Earlier before the incident, a nurse had received the baby from her mother Jali Swain for vaccination. However, she did not return the baby to the parents for a couple of days. Later, the nurse informed her that the infant had been admitted to the ICU for its serious illness and sent the parents home. Relying on the nurse, Jalli and her spouse, Ravi Swain went to their village at Nota village and turned up the hospital after a few days, in order to take their baby. Getting his son nowhere in the ICU, Ravi informed police in this connection. Acting on it, police initiated an investigation and rescued the newborn from a woman. However, during investigation, it was revealed that the newborn was deliberately lifted with a preplan.
