Jharsuguda, Oct 25: Police arrested three siblings for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 15 lakh on the promise of providing a railway job in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district.
The accused have been identified as Rajesh Kumar Badi, Rajeswari Badi and Jharana Badi.
According to police, the trio on last Friday took Rs 15 from the victim, identified as Manas Ranjan Patel of Chichinda village in the district on the pretext of providing him a job in Railway.
The three called Patel to a hotel in Jharsuguda where they took Rs 15 lakh from him and fled from the hotel after locking Patel inside a hotel room, said police.
Later, Patel had lodged an FIR at Jharsuguda police station, basing on which the police launched a probe and nabbed the trio from Bargarh district.
The police also seized cash Rs 13 lakh, a car, fake Aadhaar cards, voter Ids, mobile phones and a laptop from the possession of the accused.
“The accused have been forwarded to the court,” said Jharsuguda SP Bikash Chandra Dash at a presser.
