25% remuneration hike for outsourced and contractual employees

Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday announced 25 per cent remuneration hike for the employees engaged through outsourcing organizations and on contractual basis. About 33,000 persons would be benefited following the move while the state government will bear Rs 100 crore additional expenditure annually. The concerned organization will contribute to the EPFO and ESI for the employees. The Chief Minister directed to take stern action against the organizations, which do not contribute the mandatory providend fund dues. In addition, the Chief Minister has directed them to be allowed a maximum of 12 days off per year. Similarly, in the case of pregnant women, the Chief Minister has advised the concerned authorities to take a decision as soon as possible considering the issue of maternity leave.
