Jammu, July 5: In a tragic incident, as many as 25 pilgrims on way to undertake the Amarnath Yatra 2025 sustained injuries as four buses of escorted convoys collided with each other in Jammu and Kashmir's Ramban district on Saturday.
According to officials, one of the bus drivers in the Amarnath Yatra convoy lost control of the vehicle, possibly due to a brake failure which caused a collision between four buses near the Chandrakote Yatri Langar on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Ramban district.
Upon getting the information, police along with health department officials arrived at the scene and rescued the victims.
They were rushed were rushed to the Ramban district hospital for medical treatment. Ramban Deputy Commissioner Ilyas Khan visited the hospital and enquired about the condition of the injured.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 25 pilgrims were slightly injured when four vehicles in the Yatra convoy collided. He added that all the injured have received first aid and are being discharged.
"Alternate transport has been arranged so the injured passengers can continue their journey after leaving the hospital," officials stated.
