24 stolen motorcycles seized in Ganjam, 9 arrested

Sanakhemundi, Jan 16: Aska police busted a bike lifting gang and seized 24 stolen motorcycles. Nine members of the gang have been arrested, Aska police station IIC Prasant Kumar Sahu said on Saturday. Several bike theft reports were lodged at the police station during last few days. The IIC formed a special team to nab the culprits following rise in bike lifting cases under his jurisdiction. The team conducted frequent raids in the district and at several places in neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh. Police managed to nab a member of the gang who during interrogation revealed details of the gang and its modus operandi. Based on the inputs, the team conducted the raids in Ganjam and Andhra Pradesh to nab other members of the interstate gang. “We have arrested only 9 people of the gang and raids are on to nab other members of the gang”, said Sahu.
