Bhubaneswar, Feb 26: The 23rd Kalinga Natya Mahotsav organised by Odisha’s leading cultural outfit Satabdira Kalakar concluded with Assamese play ' Ghatotkacha- my son'. This epical theory blended with dance-drama and socio-political episodes quoted from the great Indian Mohabharat was staged by the Purvarang, Manipur, a consortium and research institute of North Indian Cults. The scenes in this play, screened with Ghatotkacha as the prime character, who dedicated his life for others having being cursed to be a demon by birth. What was the role of mere Ghatotkacha in the greatest regimic war ever fought? What he contributed towards establishment of just, prevailing eternal peace for the then great Indians in lieu of his supreme sacrifice? All these questions got truly answered with the live performances of the artist on the amphitheatre at Ravindra Manap in Bhubaneswar. The play was scripted and directed by eminent theatre critic Gunakar Dev Goswami.
