Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the forthcoming general elections, revision of electoral rolls began across the State from today.
People can file complaints regarding the addition, deletion and any changes till October 31. All the complaints will be disposed before November 30 and final voter list will be published on January 4, 2019, said Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar today.
Kuamr today urged political parties to cooperate during the revision of electoral rolls.
Though Odisha has a total of 35,896 polling booths, there will be more 1800 to 2000 booths based on the number of voters.
For the first time in Odisha, voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) will be used in all booths. Adequate numbers of VVPAT machines will be available by October, this year in the State. Meanwhile, VVPAT machines have started arriving in the State.
