2-year boy of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj plays percussion on Khol as professional artist

Mayurbhanj, Nov 10: A two-year boy of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district plays percussion on Khol (a typical Odissi drum) as a professional artist. Getting no formal training from the maestro,Debasish Das, the tiny tot of Parameswar Das of Mangalpur village is playing the khol with the beats of devotional songs. Debasish  is capable of beating Khol solo with sweet rhythms uttering the bols (mathematical notations) in his stammering voice.At the same time, he has mastered the art of playing it altogether with group of professional musicians. Parameswar Das, father of Debasish said, his boy has learnt the art of playing the khol while he was one and half year old, by imitating it from his granny. Especially, he is keen to play the Khol with the devotional songs basing on lord Rama and Krishna in various occasions.
