2 beaten by villagers fot attacking passersby with blades in Balasore

Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, two youths were severely beaten by villagers for attacking passersby with sharp blades and looting them of valuables on National Highway-57 at Chandaneswar Ambalia under the Jaleswar police limits in Balasore district last night.

One of the miscreants was identified as Jaga Das, a nephew of Bhogarai MLA and Higher Education Minister Anant Das.

According to reports, the two miscreants were attacking Jatra revellers when some villagers ov Ambalia took them and tied them to a roadside tree. They beat them severely and called police.

On being informed, the Jaleswar police rushed to the spot, rescued them and rushed them to a hospital.

It is also reported that Jaga had attacked a police officer recently.

Minister Das said he has no relation with Jaga and his parents as his family is residing at a different place for long.
