Bhubaneswar, Mar 24: As many as 1,600 science teacher posts are lying vacant in various schools in the state. This was informed by School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash in the Assembly.
The minister told the Assembly that the Centre has sanctioned Rs 520 crore for setting up science laboratories in schools. Till now, the state has set up the labs at 2,562 high schools.
Besides, the state government has decided to establish as many as 429 science labs under ‘Mo School’ campaign. As many as science labs are being set up at 819 schools across the state out of SCR funds while 100 Adarsh Vidyalayas have science laboratories.
