Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Bhubaneswar today said that there are at least 137 cases pending against notorious criminal Madhab alias Sachidananda Khuntia, who was arrested along with his three associates in Bolangir on Thursday. He was an associate of dreaded criminal Tito.
STF SP Satyajit Mohanty today told reporters here that he was indulged in the criminal activities for last 35 years and as many as 137 cases, including murder, dacoity, kidnapping, bombing and extortion were pending against him in different police stations of the State.
He said that the STF will pray in the court for remand of Madhav to elicit more information from him about the crime network.
Acting on tipoff, the STF conducted a raid in Bolangir and arrested Madhab alias Sachidananda Khuntia of Raniola of Cuttack district, Chagala alias Pradeep Nayak of Gokulpur, Pratap Chandra Sahu of Kulashree and Sayed Imtiaz Ali alias Sayed Rajak Ali of Malapada.
Several cases are pending against all the arrested men.
Madhab used to carry out his criminal activities in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Kendrapara, Bolangir and other districts.
