Bhubaneswar, August 11: A total of 135 Dialysis Centres have been established in Odisha under Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) during the last two years. The Rajya Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP) was launched to improve access to haemodialysis services by establishing dialysis centres in District Hospitals and other health facilities across the country and providing free dialysis services to eligible patients.

While 67 Dialysis Centres have been established during FY 2024-25, as many as 68 such cenrtes have been opened during FY 2025-26 in the State.

Responding to a query, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav informed in a written reply informed the Rajya Sabha today that the PMNDP was launched to improve access to haemodialysis services by establishing dialysis centres in District Hospitals and other health facilities across the country and providing free dialysis services to eligible patients.

The programme is presently implemented in all 36 States/UTs covering 751 districts (including 44 linked districts) through 1,856 haemodialysis centres equipped with 13,535 haemodialysis machines, as reported by the States/UTs as on June 30, 2026, the Minister informed the House.

The Minister informed the House that Dialysis centres under PMNDP were established based on proposals received from the States/UTs in their annual Programme Implementation Plans (PIPs), prepared on the basis of gap analysis. These proposals are considered in the National Programme Coordination Committee meetings and approvals are conveyed through the Record of Proceedings (RoPs).

The Ministry undertakes periodic monitoring of the Programme through the Common Review Mission (CRM) and visits by senior officers.
