Bhubaneswar: Normal life has gone out of gear in the entire Mayurbhanj district since this morning due to a 12-hour bandh being observed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha with a demand for establishment of permanent bench of the Orissa High Court at Baripada.
Due to the bandh, schools, colleges and shops and bazaars have remained closed at Rairangpur, Udala, Karanjia and Betonati in the district. Similarly, vehicular movement have been stopped at most of the places.
JMM activists are now picketing at Government offices at different places now to press for fulfilment of the demand.
“People of north Odisha are spending a lot and facing difficulties in going to the High Court in Cuttack. We have been demanding establishment of a permanent bench but athourities have remained silent. We have been forced to observe a bandh,” said JMM leaders.
