12 addl fire services teams sent to 5 Odisha dists

Bhubaneswar, May 11: The Odisha Government has initiated efforts to ensure preparedness ahead of the anticipated cyclone ‘Asani’ that is coming close to Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada, 12 additional teams of fire services personnel sent to five districts in Odisha. Besides, four senior fire services officers were assigned to five vulnerable districts and are in readiness along with modern equipment to meet any eventuality. Special Relief Commissioner, Odisha, Pradeep Kumar Jena informed as many as 132 teams of Fire Service personnel have also been deployed along with the 60 ODRAF teams in the districts. Moreover, a total of 12 ODRAF teams have been deployed in Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri and Jagatsinghpur districts today, the SRC said. Similarly, 12 fire service teams have also been deployed in Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada and Ganjam districts.
