Berhampur, March 8: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday disbursed over Rs 5,000 crore to 1.18 crore women beneficiaries under Subhadra Yojana, coinciding with the International Women’s Day.

Attending a special event held at Ambapua in Berhampur city, the Chief Minister disbursed the second installment of the scheme.

An amount of Rs 5,000 each was credited to the bank accounts of 1.18 crore women, who have already received a similar amount as the first installment in five different phases over the past seven months.

Subhadra Yojana aims to provide Rs 50,000 to eligible women aged 21 to 60 years over five years (2024-25 to 2028-29). In its 2024 election manifesto, the BJP had promised to provide Rs 50,000 to one crore poor women in the state.
