Bhubaneswar, June 4: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi urged Revenue Officers and Tehsildars to transform tehsildar offices into transparent, people-friendly spaces rather than places of fear.
Speaking at a state-level revenue officers' conference at Lok Sabha Bhawan here today, CM Majhi emphasized accessibility for the poor, timely service, and land justice for the marginalized.
Majhi reaffirmed the state’s goal of zero landlessness, extending land allotment even to those owning less than four decimals. He praised the successful evacuation during Cyclone Dana and reiterated the commitment to the Zero Casualty mission.
The CM warned against illegal land deals involving SC/ST communities, stressing strict action and zero tolerance. He called for the swift resolution of land disputes, the recovery of encroached government land, and fair land acquisition for industries. He also highlighted the need for accurate land verification to ensure the rightful beneficiaries of paddy procurement.
Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari echoed these reforms, urging officials to adopt people-first practices. Top officials and representatives from all districts attended the two-day workshop.
