Bhubaneswar, March 18: Enforcement teams of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and other concerned departments are struggling to remove government advertisements and political hoardings after the model code of conduct (MCC) came into force on Saturday for the ensuing general elections.
The enforcement teams on Sunday went on an overdrive to remove government advertisements and political hoardings that dotted the cityscape.
For the last two days, municipal workers are seen busy in dismantling and covering banners, posters and hoardings of various political parties and government advertisements. Hundreds of hoardings are yet to be removed.
Hoardings of Jaga Mission, Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and similar schemes installed at different locations were covered with white flexes.
The Khordha Collector has written the BMC to remove all advertisements related to government schemes as well as hoardings and posters of political parties from all places including private spaces in the city within 72 hours as per the MCC norms.
