Youth swept away in Brahmani river at Dhenkanal: Rescued safely in Jajpur!

Jajpur, Sep 14: A youth who had been swept away by Brahmani River in Dhenkanal has been safely rescued in Jajpur on Tuesday. Some fishermen of Jajpur rescued him at Andalaba Ghat under the Dharmasala block limit in the afternoon. The youth who got a new life after a 20-kilometer sweep-away in the river is Ala Barik of Pandua village under Kamakshyanagar block. Sources said Ala was taking bath in the Brahmani river at Digambarpur village in the noon. Meanwhile, his legs slipped and he got into the high stream of the river. Subsequently, he was swept away in the floodwater up to Andalaba village in Jajpur. However, a group of fishermen spotted him floating on water and rescued him alive after a long operation in the mid-river. Later, Ala was rushed to the hospital for his health check-up and found almost OK.
