New Delhi, Nov 1: Today is world Vegan Day. On this day people avoid animal products and exploitation of animals. Vegan lovers promote a lifestyle based on a plant-based diet and conscious avoidance of animal based products, things that have testedon animals and and places where animals are used as entertainment. Sustainable environment and welfare of animals are also focused on during this time.
A vegan diet consists of eliminating all animal based products including meat, eggs, polutry, milk,curd and other items derived from animals.
This year the theme of World Vegan Day is “celebrating for a Good Cause”.
Significance: The purpose of World Vegan Day is to support and defend the rights of vegans, encourage people to become and remain vegans, work with legislators on issues like climate change and sustainable agriculture, expand the selection of vegan food in public spaces, and more.
While going vegan is trending across the world, several celebrities have also adopted the lifestyle.
