Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Institute of Medical Sciences(IMS) & SUM Hospital, an initiative of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University, Odisha has organized a symposium on Mental wellbeing on Sunday.
The Mental Health Department of SUM hospital organized the program where a panel of mental health experts delivered their thoughts on the World Mental Health Organisation’s theme ‘Mental health in an unequal world’ vividly.
The Medical Superintendent of SUM hospital, Professor Doctor Pusparaj Samantasinghar candled the ceremonial lamp of the occasion and chaired the symposium. He unveiled a video message prepared by the mental health unit of SUM hospital, featured on mental health issues and their solutions.
The head of the Mental health department, Professor Doctor Surjeet Sahoo elaborated on the global status over anomaly between physical and mental health. Professor Doctor Subhendu Narayan Mishra discussed the various ways to maintain sound mental health.
At the same time, a panel of doctors including Snehanshu Dey, Rakesh Mohanty, Amiya Krishna Sahu and Soumya Ranjan Dash presented scientific views on treating mental diseases with simpler methods.
Doctor Jitendriya Biswal delivered the vote of thanks while Doctor Lagnajit Dash and Hirnmaya Mohapatra provided all logistic assistance to make the program successful.
