Keonjhar, May 18: In an inhumane incident, a woman was allegedly beaten to death by a fellow villager over a property dispute in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
The deceased has been identified as Kuntala Nayak of Ghantaghara village in the district. While Kuntala died on spot following the attack on Friday night, her husband sustained severe injuries.
Allegedly, locals discovered her body in front of her residence on Saturday, immersed in a pool of blood, and informed police.
According to the information, Kuntala had been entangled in a prolonged land dispute with a fellow villager named Rabindra. So, Rabindra and his son Mangulu hatched a conspiracy to eliminate her.
Police have detained the father son duo for interrogation and started investigation into the incident. Officials have also seized the body for post-mortem and deployed a forensic team to the scene for investigation.
