Balangir, Aug 28: A woman sub-inspector of Saintala police station in Balangir district became critical after allegedly consuming poison at her rented house on Wednesday night.
The victim has been identified as Kajal Bag. The reason behind consumption of poison is yet to be ascertained.
Few days ago, a woman home guard of Angul district had lost her legs following a suicide attempt.
The lady home guard who has been identified as Souridhri Sahu tried to end her life after being unable to bear the torture by the wife of a DIG-ranked official of Odisha police where she was engaged in household work.
Following the incident, senior IPS officer and DIG Brijesh Kumar Rai has been shifted to the Police Headquarters in Cuttack.
