Woman rescued from a locked room; her husband, who has married three wives, has broken her limbs with an iron rod !

Berhampur, 17/12: Ganjam district police rescued a woman from a locked room in Buguda town in seriously injured condition yesterday and handed over her to her parental family. The rescued woman was identified as Hira Nayak, who had married to Padmanabha Sahu eight years ago after love affairs. She happens to be Padmanabha's third wife. {"id":22102,"sizeSlug":"large"} It was alleged that Padmanabha was often perpetrating physical torture to Hira . He was allegedly beating her up with iron rod and broke her legs and hands. Then he locked her up in his rented house and fled away. On being informed, Buguda police rescued the woman from the locked room and got her treated. The police then handed over Hira to her parental family at Panchabhuti village. Her condition continues to be critical. As, her parental family is poor, it is said to be unable to bear her treatment cost. {"id":22103,"sizeSlug":"large"} While Hira is sick, husband Padmanabha has threatened her and her parental family of dire consequence if she discloses about his torture. Hira has a seven year-old son. Security to her entire family has been demanded. Padmanabha is torturing her as he has two other wives, it is told. The entire matter has been informed to the Bhanjanagar sub divisional police officer. He has assured to take immediate action against the accused.
