With the onset of winter, revelers throng Bhubaneswar tourist sites

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: Bhubaneswar city has started witnessing the assemblage of a large number of revelers at various leisure and tourist spots in and around the city after two years. People from different corners of Odisha and neighbouring states have started coming in large numbers to the capital city for picnics with the onset of winter. Tourists have started thronging winter hotspots like Deras, Dhauli, Khandagiri, Nandankanan zoo, and Botanical Garden. Nandankanan zoo and Botanical Garden on the city outskirts have been attracting huge crowds for the past one week after the two-year ban due to the Covid pandemic. "A total of 18,624 tourists visited the Nandankanan Zoological Park on Sunday. While 17,824 tickets were sold over the counter, 800 tourists had purchased tickets online," said the zoo administration. The tourist footfall was higher in the afternoon than morning. Similarly, as many as 1765 tourists visited the Botanical Garden and most of them had picnic parties. The tourists had booked 18 cooking places on Sunday out of 100 facilities available in the garden.
